UltraSonic was in need of a helping hand with their existing user-interface controller, with Blue Sparq, they achieved a more beautiful and easy-to-control interface.

Blue Sparq, Inc. incorporated its high speed rapid prototyping capability with its Rapid Keypads – Capacitive Touch Keypad Technology to produce this stunning prototype in just a couple of weeks! The mechanical parts were first made using the Blue Sparq FDM machine and then the final parts were produced by a high precision SLA machine. Finally, the parts were given a gorgeous high end paint job!

Vagabond Vending approached Blue Sparq, Inc. to build them a universal vending machine telemetry device, which they named Insight. The Insight telemetry device communicates inventory and transaction information to the Vagabond database software.

With this telemetry hardware and database software a vending operator can see in real time what was purchased from their vending machine, what the inventory levels are, as well as how much money is sitting in the machine.

Using our translucent conductive ink and projected lighting technique we were able to acheive a bright and uniform keypad lighting. Our customer wanted the look and feel of an iPhone without using a full LCD touchscreen. Blue Sparq was given the task of creating this Looks Like, Feels Like prototype for the consumer electronic show in only 3 weeks! We exceeded our customers expectations!

Blue Sparq was contracted to give this exercise equipment a new look and feel. This was acheived by changing the old fashioned mechanical membrane switch keypads over to the new Capacitive Touch Technology found in the latest smart phones and tablets. After the prototype development was complete, this customer expected the production of these new touch panels to be done overseas, however we were able to beat the foreign pricing and keep this a MADE IN AMERICA product!

This is a single button capacitive touch keypad with a dead fronted glass overlay. This keypad has 2 icons that are controlled by the main controller. When the button is pressed, the LOCK icon appears. When the button is pressed again, the LOCK icon will turn off and the UNLOCK icon will be displayed.

Flying by foy contracted Blue Sparq to give their automation controller a new look and feel. They wanted to integrate special custom touch sliders and a touch screen with mechanical buttons. We added special dead front back lighting and indicator lights to give this panel a very modern look. This control panel communicates via ethernet as well as USB.

The user now can touch the outside of this thick glass window to control the explosion proof device. can use its rapid prototype capability to make a capacitive touch keypad that can sense through any non conductive material.

In this case, the capacitive touch system is sensing through 0.5 thick glass. This is perfect for an explosion proof control panel. In this demonstration you can see our multi touch system in action.

Our Services

CNC milling is a cutting process in which material is removed from a block by a rotating tool. In CNC milling the cutting tool is moved in all three or five dimensions to achieve the desired part shape. In CNC milling the cutting tool usually rotates about an axis that is perpendicular to the table that holds the material to be cut. A milling machine looks somewhat like a drill press at first glance. A cutting tool protrudes down from a rotating spindle. A block of material is placed on a moving table below the cutter. While the cutting tool turns, a computer controls the vertical (Z axis) motion of the cutter and the horizontal (X and Y axis) motion of the block of material. The cutter is guided to move through the material, removing portions to create shapes.

1)Before we make prototype for customers , we need got the CAD drawing , material information , process way and the surface treatment information form our customers. And then our Programming department need to make the program for CNC machine according to the CAD drawing (3D OR 2D ).

2)Then our CNC manufacture department got a program list from the programming department , finding the raw material according to the program list , and open the program number in computer and then let CNC machine running according to the program . In whole process , our worker need to change different size cutter .

3)After CNC machined , preliminary shape come out, and then we let our manual department check the size and cleaning corner and edge .

4)If it is no any problem , our worker will polish it and wash it , and then check the prototype again .

5)if no problem , then send it to the painting department to paint color which customers choose from the Pan-tone Number .

6)After painted , it will be sent to the Quality Testing Department for checking by 3D detection . When all finished and no problem , then take phones to our customers for checking and send it away

In business, time is money. Getting a quality product to market quickly is critical, and correcting design flaws early in that process is essential. Members have found that the Rapid Prototyping Center has assisted them in saving time, money, and costly delays in product development.

In the fall of 2007, the RPC expanded its capabilities when it became the only Louisville-area Haas Technical Education Center (HTEC) for Haas Automation, Inc. With advanced additive manufacturing equipment and several of the latest CNC machine tools, the RPC is now one of the most advanced prototyping facilities in the Louisville area.

The University of Louisville and the RPC are now part of NSFs National Nanotechnology Coordinating infrastructure ( The UofL node in this network, Kentucky Multi-scare Manufacturing and Nano Integration Node (MMNIN), is focused on integrating manufacturing technology over widely different length scales, that is, combining micro/nano fabrication processes with 3D additive manufacturing.  Such integrated devices can provide new solutions to real-life problems in healthcare, energy, the environment, communications, and security.

Nice Rapid manufactures its own tooling and pre-hardened P20 tool steel, to make the cavity, core and ejector plates. They are then fitted into a Master Unit Die with standard tooling components, in order to produce injection moulded parts.
